Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet.  Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.
-Helen Keller
Definition: The aggregate of features and traits that form the individual nature of a person.
Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.
-Winston Churchill
Definition: A state of mind or a feeling, disposition.
Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.
-Arnold Schwarzenegger
Definition: The quality or state of being strong (mentally or physically).
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
-Aristotle
Definition: The state or quality of excelling or being exceptionally good; extreme merit; superiority.

Case Batbusters is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was officially established in 1989 to help dedicated players improve their softball skills, develop character and earn college scholarships.  More than 200 players have gone on to play collegiate softball as a result of playing for the Case Batbusters.

Case Batbusters teams have won 6 ASA National Championships.  In 2003, Coach Bob Wenk and Jim Dolan were named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Travel Ball Coaching Staff of the Year.  In 2011, Coach Wenk was honored by the NFCA as a member of the Easton Victory Club for his 1,800th career victory.  Coach Wenk is also proud to say that he has coached four players that have gone on to play on the US Olympic Team.  Coach Wenk recently retired from actively coaching the Case Batbusters, but he is still involved with the organization; assists with recruiting and player placements as needed; and motivates the team with his spirit and attitude every time he comes to practice and games.

In 2012, Scott Barker was handed the reins of the Case Batbusters.  After more than 30 years of dedicating himself to the development of young ladies through softball, Coach Wenk decided it was time to retire and spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

It is Coach Barker’s goal to carry on the great tradition of the Case Batbusters Organization and to take the organization into the 21st Century.  Coach Barker is the president of Case Batbusters Fastpitch Softball and the manager of the 18U-Gold team.  He played baseball throughout high school and into college.  Like many coaches, he developed a passion for girls fastpitch softball when his daughter started playing at age 7.  Coach Barker is a student of the game and has been coaching fastpitch softball since 2005.  Coach Barker is also a coach with the East Los Angeles College Softball Team.
